“I believe every person deserves to feel truly heard, respected, and supported on their mental health journey. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and evidence-based care, so we can build a path toward healing that fits who you are.”

Viola Okoroanyanwu is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who brings over 15 years of nursing experience to her work at Mental Care Plus. Her clinical practice is grounded in comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, accurate diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning for adults and older adults navigating mood disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, and other psychiatric concerns.

Viola holds active Registered Nurse licensure in both New Jersey and New York and practices as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority supported by her DEA and Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) credentials. Her treatment approach integrates psychiatric medication management, supportive psychotherapy, patient and family education, and ongoing monitoring of treatment response. She works closely with each person to adjust care plans as needs evolve, with particular attention to medication adherence, side-effect management, and overall well-being.

Having cared for diverse patient populations across acute psychiatric, geriatric, and inpatient settings, Viola is committed to inclusive, culturally responsive care. She welcomes patients of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences, and creates a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals and families feel respected and empowered to participate in their own care. Her clinical work draws on evidence-based modalities including comprehensive psychiatric assessment, pharmacologic management, psychoeducation, supportive psychotherapy, crisis intervention and de-escalation, and collaborative interdisciplinary care planning.

Outside of her clinical practice, Viola is passionate about mentoring fellow nurses and advancing the quality of psychiatric care through staff education and training.
